What kind of psychiatry do you practice?
I am a psychotherapeutically-oriented psychiatrist, meaning that the central focus of my treatment involves talk therapy while using evolutionary-based interventions to help accomplish and support the work we set out in sessions. In terms of what types of therapy I use, I do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach. Instead, I integrate various therapies to cater to your individual needs. My style is integrative and best described as containing a predominantly psychodynamic base while combining various aspects of Jungian, existential, humanistic, interpersonal, self-psychological, mindfulness-based, and cognitive-behavioral therapies.
What kind of patients do you see?
I am considered a general adult psychiatrist. While I have some training in both the child/adolescent and geriatric scopes of practice, my patients tend to range from 18 to 69 years old since anything below or above that range tends to involve more complex management considerations and variables that are more suitable for specialists. Within this age range, my patients vary broadly from students pursuing various levels of higher education or training to caretakers and stay-at-home parents to other professionals including physicians, lawyers, executives, etc. who may be looking for a higher degree of individualized attention, privacy, and discretion afforded by a privately practicing psychiatrist.
Regardless of their circumstances and backgrounds, individuals who are best suited to work with me have a strong orientation toward ongoing growth and learning, gaining personal insights, implementing lifestyle modifications, and doing the work necessary to invest in their personal and professional development while reducing or eliminating the reliance on pharmaceuticals.

What are your business hours?
My current hours of operation are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 6pm Pacific time.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time, due to the remote nature of services being provided through my patient portal, I accept all major credit, debit, FSA, and HSA cards. Payment is due at the time of service. In the future I will be working on accepting other forms of payment.
What states are you licensed to see patients in?
I am currently medically licensed to treat patients living in Washington state.
What if I am not in Washington but would still like to consult with you?
While I cannot offer clinical diagnoses and treatments permitted under medical licensure, there may be other services I can provide that could be of benefit to you. An example of such services is life coaching. In reality, the work I do with my psychotherapy patients already integrates and shifts between aspects of therapy and life coaching. The primary distinction to note here would be that, with life coaching alone, we would not be looking so much at the past to diagnose and treat problems. Instead, your work with me as a client would focus on a more future-oriented approach to helping you find the right course of actions to accomplish your goals and maximize your potentials under the support of active guidance and mentorship.
If you are interested in life coaching, you can learn more at my life coaching page. For other consultative services, feel free to reach out to me to discuss and perhaps we can find a suitable arrangement to move forward together.
