Consultations
Getting a feel for you and your life story can take some time. I therefore make sure to give you a minimum of 90 minutes to do a more thorough review of your personal history, allow you to elaborate in full context without feeling rushed, and to work together to see if we can formulate a treatment plan individualized to meet your goals. Sometimes, more complex history or circumstances may require us to extend the session for up to another half hour, but the fee will remain the same.
Follow Ups
If a treatment plan is agreed upon, sessions usually take place weekly to start and then progress to every-other-week or monthly as we advance toward your treatment goals by reviewing the results of our implemented changes. Depending on the nature of your goals, length of treatment can range anywhere from several weeks for short-term, specific plans targeting a limited aspect of your life to long-term, ongoing, and exploratory work seeking to cover more complex topics such as learning about oneself, enhancing relationships, finding meaning, or gaining perspectives for coping with the ever-changing demands of daily life.
Insurance
I do not contract with or bill insurance companies. Therefore, I am considered an "out-of-network" provider for all carriers. In my professional experience, I have found such relationships with carriers to be wholly unsatisfactory for several reasons:
Nevertheless, if you happen to have insurance that provides some out-of-network coverage, I can provide you an invoice for services rendered that you may be able to use to submit a claim for reimbursement.
Location
All of my sessions are currently conducted remotely via telehealth modality that is safe, secure (HIPAA compliant), and easily accessible online. You will have direct access to my SimplePractice patient portal which will allow you to securely communicate with me, exchange documents, schedule appointments, submit payments, and attend video sessions. In the future, when circumstances permit, I will most likely have a physical office location for patients desiring in-person appointments while continuing to provide these virtual services.
Cancellations
I kindly ask that you provide at least 24 business hours notice prior to cancelling any appointment. If you are not able to cancel before this time frame, you will be charged half of the appointment fee unless you can reschedule within one week of the original appointment (note: there's no guarantee I will have availability). If you do not call or show for your appointment, you will be charged the full fee.
Out of fairness to you, if I miss our appointment or must cancel within 24 business hours and cannot reschedule within one week of the original appointment, you will not be charged and your next session fee will be reduced by half.
