Coaching Sessions (60 min): $175
Sessions
I will meet with you one-on-one regularly to identify a path forward that will give you the best chance of success in meeting your personal goal. I will do this by helping you create a concrete, behaviorally focused action plan toward that end. Usually, clients like to meet weekly to assess their progress and for accountability checks on work they have agreed to take on in between sessions. However, the level of engagement is ultimately up to you and your needs or preferences.
The first couple of sessions usually involve us taking time to talk about the issues that bring you into life coaching so that we can formulate a long-term goal. You may have something in particular that you already know you want to address or we might spend some time exploring what exactly it is that you are hoping to accomplish by working with a coach.
How long it takes to achieve your goal depends on the nature of the goal, your willingness and motivation to do the work necessary to get there, and various life circumstances that may present themselves along the way. Some clients will only need a few sessions while others may require months or years of work in order to reach satisfaction with their goals. Once you have achieved your ultimate objectives, we can either choose to end our work together or you may want to select a new long-term goal to work toward.
Coaching is Not the Same as Therapy
Please note that, while my background as a formally trained and actively practicing psychiatrist and psychotherapist helps inform and enhance my skills as a life coach, I will not be engaging with you as your doctor or therapist when providing coaching services. That is to say, I will not be providing a formal evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment plan of any clinically defined mental or physical illness in our work together. As a result, coaching services are also not covered by any health insurance plans.
Additionally, while my clinical background and skills may position me to better recognize underlying pathology that may warrant a recommendation to seek healthcare services such as therapy, I cannot provide any guarantees that I will be able to detect such issues due to federal and state licensing regulations that restrict the location and circumstances under which I can provide such formal diagnostic evaluations. If you believe you are more interested in my clinical services, you can learn more about them here.
Location
All of my sessions are currently conducted remotely via telecoaching modality that is safe, very secure (rated HIPAA compliant), and easily accessible online. This modality allows me to broaden my accessibility to clients in other geographic locations and offers them greater convenience and affordability.
You will have direct access to my SimplePractice client portal which will allow you to securely communicate with me, exchange documents, schedule appointments, submit payments, and attend video sessions. Sometimes, certain circumstances or technical difficulties may require us to hold a session over the phone. In the future, I may also have a physical office location for clients desiring in-person appointments while continuing to provide these virtual services.
Cancellations
I kindly ask that you provide at least 24 business hours notice prior to cancelling any appointment. If you are not able to cancel before this time frame, you will be charged half of the appointment fee unless you can reschedule within one week of the original appointment (note: there's no guarantee I will have availability). If you do not call or show for your appointment, you will be charged the full fee.
Out of fairness to you, if I miss our appointment or must cancel within 24 business hours, you will not be charged and your next session fee will be reduced by half.
